The Igdalen are a pastoral and semi-nomadic community living in the arid plains of the Sahel, in Niger. Historically linked to both the Tuareg and Songhai worlds, they communicate in the mixed language Tagdal. With a tradition rooted in pastoralism and the Muslim faith, they maintain an itinerant lifestyle, preserving strong community bonds amid the climatic challenges of the desert.
