Who they are
The Izhorians are an indigenous Finno-Ugric people who historically inhabit the region of Ingria, near the Gulf of Finland. Renowned for their ancient folk songs passed down through oral tradition, they faced intense cultural assimilation over the past century. Today, they seek to keep the memory of their roots alive while living fully integrated into contemporary society.
