The Jiarong Chabao inhabit the valleys and mountain slopes of Sichuan Province in southwestern China. Integrated into the Tibetan cultural complex, they preserve their own linguistic variety and a unique architecture of fortress-style stone houses. Their community identity is deeply linked to the Buddhist and animist traditions inherited from their ancestors.
