Who they are
The Kaixana are an Indigenous people who inhabit the riverbanks of the Brazilian Amazon, especially in the Japurá River basin. Through generations marked by profound changes and external pressures, they have maintained their strong connection to the forest. Today they seek to reaffirm their communal identity, supporting themselves mainly through fishing, family farming, and the traditional gathering of natural resources.
