Who they are

The Kalash Chitrali inhabit the remote valleys of the Hindu Kush, in the Chitral region of northern Pakistan. Integrated into the majority regional culture and speakers of the Khowar language, they profess Islam amid mountainous and rugged terrain. Their identity blends ancient local roots with the traditional customs of high-altitude villages, characterized by strong family loyalty and great community hospitality.
