Who they are
The Kam, who call themselves ɲí ŋwɔ̀m, live in the Bali area of Taraba State, Nigeria. They live mainly by farming and fishing, and sorghum is their most important crop. According to a 2020 linguistic survey, many parents speak only Hausa with their children, and the Kam language is at risk of being lost. Most follow traditional religions; Christians and Muslims are minorities.
