Who they are

The Kaman are an ethnic minority in Myanmar’s Rakhine State. Historically known as archers in the service of the Arakanese royalty, they preserve their own customs and a distinct cultural identity amidst a region marked by intense communal tensions. Despite profound social changes across generations, they maintain strong ties to their ancestral homeland.
