The Kambole are part of the wider Nago and Yoruba group of West Africa, living mainly in central Togo and neighboring areas of Benin. They maintain a strong attachment to the Nago language and preserve rich cultural traditions expressed in music, community celebrations, and the oral transmission of their ancestral customs and values.

Daily life among the Kambole revolves around subsistence farming, growing yams, cassava, and corn, as well as keeping small herds. Villages are organized around extended families and well-established lineages, with respect for elders guiding social and community decisions.
Islam is the predominant religion among the Kambole, shaping daily practices and the community calendar. In many homes, elements of traditional Yoruba and Nago religion remain present, creating a syncretic faith in which the search for spiritual protection and the honoring of ancestors continue.

Kambole communities face shortages of basic health services, treated water, and equipped schools in rural areas. Spiritually, the few local believers need ongoing discipleship and encouragement to share the gospel in ways that are meaningful to their relatives.
