Who they are

The Kansa, also known as the Kaw people, are an Indigenous nation originally from the Great Plains of North America and associated with the Siouan language family. Their ancestral lands gave the state of Kansas its name, although most now live in the state of Oklahoma. They work diligently to preserve their cultural history, valuing the passing down of traditions and community unity across generations.
