Who they are

The Karas are a small Indigenous community who live on the Karas Islands, near the coast of the Bomberai Peninsula in West Papua. Preserving their native language and a way of life connected to the sea and the tropical forest, they live in close-knit coastal villages. Although Christianity has a historical presence in the region, there is a great need for discipleship in their heart language.
