Who they are
The Karipuna of Rondônia are an Indigenous people of Tupi heritage who live in the forests of the Brazilian Amazon. Having survived intense conflict and losses following their earliest contacts with outsiders, they maintain a deep connection with the native forest, which provides their livelihood and shapes their community life, as they persevere in preserving their identity and ensuring their families’ survival.
