Who they are
The Katxuyana are a Carib-speaking Indigenous people living in the forests of northern Pará, near the Trombetas and Mapuera rivers. Known for their resilience following periods of forced displacement and severe epidemics in their history, they preserve traditional customs tied to the river, communal farming, and the rich oral memory of their ancestors.
