Who they are
The Keak live in East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea, and speak Mevembet, also called Keak. Families grow yams, taro, and other vegetables for their own use and sell cocoa to supplement their income. Most identify as Christians, and a minority follow traditional religions. Practices of ancestor worship also persist among Christians.
