Who they are
The Kemak are an Indigenous Austronesian people who live mainly in the mountainous region between Timor-Leste and Indonesia. With a rich cultural heritage, they organize their society into clans and keep ancestral traditions alive. Although most profess the Christian faith, traditional practices still profoundly shape the community’s daily life and spirituality.
