Who they are
The Kisi live in Tanzania, in Ludewa District, beside Lake Nyasa. Their villages began as fishing settlements and are organized into clans. Fishing and pottery are their two main activities; traditionally, men did the fishing and women made pottery, and the craft of pot making is passed down within families. Most follow traditional religions, but there is a sizable Christian minority and a small Muslim minority.
