Who they are

The Kugbo are a small ethnic group living in the riverine areas of Rivers State in southern Nigeria. Traditionally engaged in fishing and subsistence farming, they seek to preserve their native language amid the strong influence of neighboring cultures and languages. Although most identify as Christians, the community still lacks in-depth biblical discipleship and full access to the Scriptures in their own language.
