Who they are
The Kupel are an indigenous people of the highlands of Papua, on the island of New Guinea. Linguistically related to the Ketengban group, they live in remote villages surrounded by mountain forests. Their culture values communal life, subsistence farming, and traditions passed down orally through generations in a region that is geographically difficult to reach.
