The Legenyem are an Indigenous community living in the Raja Ampat archipelago, in Indonesia’s West Papua province. Closely connected to the coast and its marine resources, they maintain their own language and a way of life shaped by the islands. Although most profess Islam, local traditions and community ties remain strong.
