Who they are
The Lonchong are a small Indigenous community living along the coast of Bangka Island in Indonesia. Traditionally connected to maritime life and mangrove ecosystems, they preserve a distinctive identity expressed through the Sekak language. Their customs reflect both the historical roots of seafaring peoples and the strong cultural influence of the Malay world around them.
