Who they are
The Lop Nur Uyghurs are a unique subgroup of the Uyghur people, historically linked to the oases and ancient lake basins of the Taklamakan Desert in northwestern China. Formerly known for their lifestyle centered on fishing and reed craftsmanship, they preserve their own cultural traditions and a deeply rooted Muslim identity, enduring the rigorous ecological and social transformations of their homeland.
