Who they are

The Mandaeans, also known as Sabians, form an ancient ethnoreligious community originating from the floodplains and rivers of southern Iraq and southwestern Iran. Known for their Gnostic tradition and the continuous practice of ritual baptisms in flowing waters, they preserve a unique identity tied to Aramaic heritage. Recent conflicts have dispersed a large portion of the people throughout the Middle East and the West.
