Who they are

The Mangisa, who appear in local sources as Menguissa, live in Cameroon’s Centre Region, in the Sa’a area near the Sanaga River. They speak Njowi and Tiki-Leti. According to a 2022 interview, Njowi was used in everyday life, while Tiki-Leti, the people’s older language, had become less common in conversation. Most identify as Christians, and some follow traditional religions.
