Matlazinca, San Francisco Ranchos

The Matlatzinca of San Francisco de los Ranchos are an indigenous community from central Mexico, with strong community ties and deep historical roots in the Toluca Valley. Living in mountainous areas, they traditionally dedicate themselves to agriculture and handicrafts. Although the Christian faith is part of their history, they face the ongoing challenge of preserving their ancestral language and passing on their cultural identity to new generations.
