Who they are
The Mokole are a Yoruba subgroup living mainly in northern Benin. They preserve a distinctive cultural identity, speaking their native language while maintaining historical and trade ties with neighboring peoples in the region, such as the Bariba and the Fulani.
Traditionally engaged in family farming, they tend the land with care and organize their communities around mutual support and respect for elders.
