Who they are
The Mukogodo Yaaku are an indigenous community with historical ties to the forests and hills of Kenya’s central plateau. In the past, they lived as hunter-gatherers in rock shelters, but over time they adopted herding and the customs of their pastoral neighbors, while seeking to preserve their distinctive identity and the memory of their ancestral language.
