Who they are

The Mursi, who call themselves Mun, live in the lower Omo Valley in southwestern Ethiopia. They combine farming with cattle herding and mainly grow sorghum. Most follow their traditional religion, while Christians are a minority. The Gibe III dam, completed upstream in 2016, eliminated the annual flood that supplied water and nutrients to crops along the banks of the Omo.
