The Murut Tagal are an indigenous people who inhabit the forests and hills of Borneo’s interior, concentrated in the state of Sabah and neighboring regions of Kalimantan. Traditionally rooted in rice cultivation and communal village life, they preserve a distinctive cultural identity, rich in oral traditions and expressed through their native language.
