Who they are

The Nadeb are an Indigenous people living in the forests and river basins of the northwestern Brazilian Amazon, in the region between the Negro and Japurá rivers. Traditionally hunters and gatherers with a deep knowledge of the forest, they belong to the Nadahup language family. Over the decades, they have adapted their way of life through contact with the surrounding region while keeping their cultural identity alive and continuing to communicate in their mother tongue.
