People
Who they are
The Nawuri live in villages around Kpandai, in northeastern Ghana. Farming is their main occupation, and social life is organized around families and clans. Their traditional beliefs predominate; Christians form a sizable minority, and there are a few Muslims. Christianity reached the Nawuri in 1944, and today different denominations work among their communities.
