The Ndaonese are a small island community originally from Ndao, in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara region. Historically known for their metalwork and fine weaving, they preserve their own language, Dhao, and maintain strong community ties both on their home island and in neighboring areas such as Rote and Timor.
