Who they are
The Nila are a small people group originally from the volcanic island of Nila in Indonesia’s Maluku Islands. Because of volcanic activity in their homeland, much of the community was resettled on the island of Seram. They preserve their cultural traditions and community ties while adapting to new surroundings, communicating in both their traditional language and Ambonese Malay.
