People
Who they are
The Niuatoputapu inhabit the remote island of the same name, located in the far north of Tonga in the Pacific Ocean. As part of the wider Polynesian family, they maintain communal traditions deeply connected to the sea, farming and extended family ties. Although they have adopted the Tongan language over the generations, they preserve a strong sense of island identity and a rich heritage of hospitality and shared faith.
