Who they are
The Orang Seletar are one of the Indigenous peoples of Peninsular Malaysia, traditionally known as sea nomads. Living in the coastal areas and mangroves of the Strait of Johor, they preserve a deep connection to the ocean and its estuaries. Their distinctive culture and their own language reflect centuries of seafaring, gathering marine resources, and community life in harmony with the tides.
