People
Who they are
The Pimbwe live in the Rukwa region of western Tanzania and are defined by their language. They were once fishermen and hunters in what is now Katavi National Park; today they mainly grow millet, maize and cassava and raise goats. Most are now Muslim or Catholic, and there are also evangelicals among them. Grandparents and grandchildren live in very different worlds.
