Who they are

The Qiangyi live in stone villages in the mountains of Sichuan, China, among the earliest peoples of the region. They speak their own language belonging to the Tibeto-Burman family and maintain traditions of terraced farming and ancestor veneration. Their identity is tied to the land and to customs passed down from generation to generation, distinct from the neighboring Han peoples.
