Who they are

The Quechua of Cerro de Pasco inhabit the mountainous regions and valleys of the central Peruvian Andes. Heirs to a rich cultural tradition, they preserve their mother tongue and communal labor in the highlands. Although the Christian faith is part of their history, most live a traditional religiosity blended with ancestral customs, with little opportunity to clearly understand the Gospel in their own language.
