Who they are
The Corongo Quechua inhabit the slopes and valleys of the Andean province of Corongo, in northern Peru. They preserve their cultural heritage through traditional agriculture, community life, and their own variety of the Quechua language. Although the majority practice a traditional Catholicism with strong elements of Andean religiosity, few clearly understand the Gospel in their mother tongue.
