Who they are
The Rakahanga-Manihiki live in New Zealand and the Cook Islands, where they originate from the atolls of Rakahanga and Manihiki in the northern part of the archipelago. They are a Polynesian people. On Manihiki, black pearl farming in the lagoon dominates the island’s economy. Almost all identify as Christians in both countries, and small minorities have no religion or follow other beliefs.
