Who they are

The Retuara are an Indigenous people living in the tropical forests of the Colombian Amazon basin, along rivers such as the Mirití-Paraná. Keepers of deep oral traditions, they share close linguistic and cultural ties with the Tanimuca. Their community life revolves around the forest, the rivers and ancestral rituals that connect their history to the land and the spiritual world.
