Who they are

The Sabanê are an Indigenous people living in the transition zone between the cerrado savanna and the Amazon rainforest in the state of Rondônia. Historically associated with the cultural complex of the Nambiquara peoples, they maintain a distinct identity and a strong connection to the land.

Today, they face major challenges in preserving their ancestral language and traditional customs amid extensive integration into the surrounding society.
