Most live in urban centers, industrial towns, and small farming communities. Daily life is shaped by employment in commerce, technology, education, and the service sector. They place high value on neighborhood bonds, traditional music, community celebrations, and sporting events such as football and rugby. Traditional cuisine and shared meals reinforce their cultural identity and their sense of warm hospitality.
Historically shaped by the Protestant Reformation and Presbyterianism, the society is now largely secularized. For many, the Christian faith has become merely an aspect of cultural heritage or a framework for rites of passage such as weddings and funerals. Even so, an active remnant of evangelical believers remains committed to sharing the gospel in practical, relational ways with their fellow citizens.
