Who they are

The Semnani are an Iranian people inhabiting the Semnan province in northern Iran, along the historic Silk Road. They proudly preserve their own language, a Northwestern Iranian language distinct from standard Persian and kept alive in daily tradition. Their identity combines a strong family devotion with a rich cultural heritage shaped by life between mountains and desert plains.
