Who they are

The Seng are a small, little-known people of Laos, living in remote communities and rarely mentioned in studies. Their language is generally associated with the Mon-Khmer family and, as far as is known, is largely unwritten.

Many also speak some Lao, the national language, for trade and for dealing with the authorities. Even so, it is in their own language that they keep the memory and identity of their people. Few outside their villages know they exist, but God knows each one of them by name.

Barriers to the gospel

Being a small people far from urban centers means that very few have carried the message of Jesus to them. A largely unwritten language makes first contact harder, as well as the production of materials in the language of the heart.

For workers to reach the Seng villages with love, patience and respect for the culture.
