The Senoufo Nanerige live in southwestern Burkina Faso, in Kénédougou Province, from Djigouéra northward, and also in Bobo-Dioulasso. They are one of the Senoufo groups, and their language, Nanerigé, is also written Nanergé and Nanergué. It is a Senoufo language of the Niger-Congo family, and a description of it became a doctoral thesis at Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris in 1984.

The Nanerige do not yet have the Bible in their own language: translation into Nanerigé is listed as needed. Christians are a minority among neighbors and relatives who follow traditional religions or Islam, and they need teaching in their own language to grow in faith and explain it to their families.
