Who they are
The Serua are a community originally from the remote volcanic island of Serua, in Indonesia’s Maluku Islands. Because of the risk of eruptions in the past, much of the population was resettled on the island of Seram. Although they retain ties to their island history and make their living from farming and fishing, they face the challenge of keeping their cultural identity alive while seeking maturity in the faith they profess.
