Who they are
The Sihuas Quechua live in the valleys and on the slopes of the Andes in the Ancash region of Peru. Descended from ancient Andean communities, they preserve their mother tongue and their attachment to farming the land communally. Although much of the population identifies with traditional Christianity, ancestral beliefs and customs remain alive, highlighting the need for biblical discipleship that speaks to the hearts of the people.
