Who they are
The Sonar Deswali are part of the traditional community of goldsmiths and jewelers of northern India. Historically linked to intricate work with gold and silver, many preserve the craft passed down through generations. Rooted in Hindu culture and religious practice, they maintain close community ties based on kinship and profession, living with almost no contact with the gospel message.
