The Songlai belong to the Chin group of peoples and live mainly in the mountainous regions of Southeast Asia. With a strong connection to their ancestral lands and a distinct linguistic identity, they keep community traditions alive across generations. Although many surrounding Chin peoples are Christian, the Songlai retain strong Buddhist roots intertwined with traditional customs.
