Who they are
The Tanacross are an Indigenous Athabaskan people whose traditional homeland lies in the Tanana River valley in interior Alaska. Deeply connected to the land and the cycles of nature, they maintain communal hunting and fishing practices. Today, they seek to preserve their ancestral language and pass on their rich cultural heritage to younger generations amid rapid changes in the modern world.
