Who they are
The Tapeba are an indigenous people who traditionally live in the state of Ceará in northeastern Brazil, along the banks of the Ceará River and in areas on the outskirts of cities. Shaped by an ongoing struggle to assert their rights and preserve their ancestral memory, they keep their community identity alive, combining fishing, family farming, and handicrafts while facing the challenges of living alongside urban expansion.
